Kit Bangles's Wicked Find for this week's EP is MTV's Bromance.

MTV's Bromance was a 2008-2009 reality TV show on which 9 men competed to win a bromance with Brody Jenner of The Hills. According to Wikipedia, winner Luke Verge got "a spot in Jenner's entourage, a one year & rent-free stay in a fully furnished penthouse in downtown Los Angeles, and a new Scion." (Quite the generous prize, no? But what are "friends" for, right?)

You can find out more about Bromance and watch full episodes of the show on mtv.com.

Just because the episode's over, doesn't mean the conversation has to end. I'm releasing some bonus content for Episode #16: Scandal-ous TV.

EP 16 Extra: Reality TV's Gender Balance?

The conversation from Episode #16: Scandal-ous TV was so good that I had a hard time editing it down. This is a short clip that did not make it into the final cut - of our discussion on reality TV's gender balance. The article we reference during this discussion is off our Link List, "Working Women On Television: A Mixed Bag At Best" from npr.org.

EP 16 Extra: Interview with Bryan McClure

I also sat down for a Skype interview with actor Bryan McClure. We discussed the Space Command franchise as well as Bryan's other projects, including an upcoming webseries. Bryan also shared some advice and a great book recommendation for aspiring actors. You can find out more about Space Command at the project's official website: spacecommandmovie.com. For more info on Bryan, check out his imdb page and his website, bryanmcclure.net.

During EP#16, I recommended The Vodka Implet and The Belvedere Compton.

Sticking with the TV theme, I researched cocktails named after and/or inspired by TV characters. There are many out there, so narrowing it down was a challenge; but I think I picked two great drinks.

I watch Games of Thrones. (I know, I know.) The best part of the show is unarguably Tyrion Lannister, as played by the talented Peter Dinklage. So when I found out about The Vodka Implet - inspired by the charismatic, mischievous imp himself - I had to try it. It's simple and sweet, a perfect drink to mix when you have friends over.

The Vodka Implet (according to doubleneat.com)
  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  • 1/2 ounce fresh key lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Like Game of Thrones, True Blood is a show that falls into the guilty pleasure category for many fans. I may have stopped watching it after the third season, but I can appreciate its influence in the cocktail world. Especially after drinking The Belvedere Compton - I tried this cocktail at a party last weekend and oooh was it yummy.

The Belvedere Compton (according to divinecaroline.com)
  • 1.5 oz. Belvedere Orange
  • 1/2 oz. lime juice
  • 3 oz. ginger beer
  • 3 oz. Tru Blood*
*Note: Don't have Tru Blood on hand? Neither did I. When I recreated this drink back at home, I used another brand of blood orange soda and it tasted just as good.

My Top Five Favorite Television Characters: Some I want to be, some I want to be with, and some I want to be AND be with.

#5 Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan, Burn Notice) - Blacklisted yogurt-loving super spy Michael Westen is not only smart but he has a heart. After returning to Miami he spends most of his time helping those in need while still trying to fight for his old spy life back. He has a group of friends who pledge allegiance to him because they know that he would always be there for them.

#4 Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington, Scandal) - Brilliant straight shooter, problem solver and crisis manager Olivia Pope is not only stunning but the mention of her name is enough to bring Washington to it's knees - sexually and otherwise.

#3 Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall, Dexter) - Blood analyst for Miami Metro by day and serial killer by night. Dexter is one of the first highly recognizable characters that everyone is rooting for when they really shouldn't be. Don't worry, he only kills "the bad guys". I admire his self-control.

#2 Nikita Meers (Maggie Q, Nikita) - Alright, I admit it, I have a thing for spy series. It intrigues me and so does Nikita. Nikita is always waging the fight for the greater good when no one else will. As a bonus Maggie Q is a dedicated actress with some bad ass marital arts moves.

#1 Louise Belcher (Kristen Schaal, Bob's Burgers) If I could be a 9 year old cartoon character, I think i'd want to be Louise Belcher. She's insanely brilliant, sarcastic, witty, independent, a problem solver...I need a minute to come to terms with the fact that I have a girl crush on a cartoon character, please.
