Q: Zoe what podcasts do you listen to? - Juliet V.
A: I listen to a lot of podcasts - and I mean A LOT. My favorites change depending on my mood, but I recommend you check out StarTalk Radio, The Dinner Party Download, Vagina Chronicles, Guys We Fucked: The Anti Slut-Shaming Podcast, and Dr. Radio Show. Love those shows!

A: I admit, I prefer the lighthearted episodes, too. But these are conversations everyone needs to be having, and I hope everyone learned something from it. (I know I did.)
Q: Zoe you seemed upset during the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence talk. Was it because of the topics? Or was it because of Kit and Karly? I kinda thought they came off as assholes during it. - april14
A: I'll tackle this in reverse order. I don't think Kit and Karly said or did anything more/less appropriate than I did during the conversation. This was a hard episode for all of us, but I think we pulled it off. (Hopefully listeners feel the same way.)
Q: Would you consider hiring on a guy host? - anonymous
A: Absolutely - we'd just have to change our info to "women and man run podcast and blog."
Q: Have you considered doing a kickstarter for your show? - Amanda S.
A: Yes, we have - and we're working on it. We'll let folks know when we've got a campaign up and where they can find it.
Q: You haven't done a Flirtini in a while!!! Please tell me you're not dropping it! Everybody loves the Zoe Grimm breaks!!! - Tyler
A: Not-Kit-Bangles's-Tyler, I presume? The Flirtini has not been dropped; it just hasn't fit in time/break-wise for the last few EPs. *SPOILER* I'll be doing one for this Friday's EP.
Q: Please do a videocast for the teasers Zoe. - anonymous
A: Other fans have commented and asked about this, too. So...this will happen, I just have to coordinate when. Stay tuned.
Q: The Google epi was so good! Do you have any other tech or geeky epi's coming up? - Mike M.
A: There'll be more tech and geekiness to come on The Vodka Press podcast, I promise. One thing I'd love to do - record a segment at a con; might not happen for PAX, but I may attempt it for Comic Con.
Q: You guys should do an episode on fears! - Adrian C.
A: I'm game. Bangles and Kingsley, what do you think?
Q: Someone else may have asked and if so then my bad but could you do boozy candy or sweets recipes for an episode. - Megan
A: *SPOILER* I'm whipping some up for EP #24.
Q: What about a TMI episode? - anonymous
A: There's plenty of TMI in every episode of The Vodka Press, least about us. It might be fun to do an episode on the sense of entitlement and the pressure (or need?) to overshare in our culture.
Q: Dreams do come true, Zoe it was so cool to finally meet you! Do you hang at Bukowski often? - KenIn1082

A: That's what happens when you hang around bars in and around Boston - eventually you run into Zoe Grimm. Kenneth, if I recall correctly you promised me a 'thriller' dance; I'll be collecting on that next time we run into each other...which may or may not be at Bukowski. I try to spread myself out among several spots in and outside of Boston. I've run into fans while at the MFA, Estelle's, the mall, Newbury Comics, and even the dogpark.
Q: What's the next episode of The Vodka Press going to be about? - anonymous
A: Listen to this week's teaser to find out.
such a tease zoe! random question, how tall are all of you?
ReplyDeleteNo question is too random...except maybe this one. ;)
DeleteI'm 5'6", but with heels I can be anywhere between 5'9" and 6'3". (Gotta love the fetish heels.)
I'm game for a fears EP, and I think TMI would a fun one, although Zoe's totally right: I feel like you guys get lots of TMI from us on the regular.
ReplyDeleteAlso, apologies to anyone who thinks Karly or I copped attitude on our Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault EP. Zoe nailed it: it was a difficult conversation, and recording that episode was the first time we'd talked about that specific subject material together.
Sometimes trying to put thoughts into words and keeping emotions out (or in) can lead to what sounds like asshole-ry.
We like the tough topics. Hard is fun...but it's also just hard.
yay! you got to my question. :-)
ReplyDeletecurious since someone else brought it up. what are you hoping to get with a kickstarter? like what would the donations go to?
Equipment to deliver better sound quality as well as the ability to record on-location. Also, we could move and revamp our website with more ease and less financial strain on TVP (since it's operated on a ramen-noodle kind of budget).
DeleteDuly noted, I shall become a lush in hopes of meeting Zoe Grimm. ;) Seriously though, I just think it's so freaking cool that you hang out with fans. Know where'd be cool to meet? At a comic book shop. May I ask which one or ones you like best?
ReplyDeleteYou'd be in good company if you did.
DeleteOf course you may ask. I bounce between the various NE Comics, Rubber Chicken, Comicazi, Multiverse Comics, The Time Capsule, That's Entertainment, and Double Midnight Comics. I used to go regularly to JP Comics, but gosh I haven't been there in ages.
Want to know a super awesome place to meet me at? Barnes and Noble. I'm old school, I buy my books at the bookstore (unless a title's only available online or as an eBook). I go to B&N twice a week, sometimes even just to hang out in the cafe and draw. Tweet or email me, and we can even coordinate a day/time to "mysteriously" meet up and hang out.
I now need a "I met Zoe Grimm and all I got was an autographed drawing, coffee, hug, and, f*ck yeah, Zoe's phone number!!!" t-shirt. Seriously, cannot wait to hang out again.
DeleteThe Vodka Press is the coolest podcast and blog out there, because no other blog or show is run by such dedicated, sexy, funny, and nice, yes nice!, women. Sending love to all three of your ladies, you rock!
