Exclusive Teaser Interview for EP 17: Fantasy Dating

Since Valentine's Day is coming up, I sat down to do a Skype call interview with Suzanne Casamento, founder of the Fantasy Dating Game.

The Fantasy Dating Game is not virtual dating nor is it an online dating website; it's a tool to make friends with other singles and motivate each other to get off the couch, put down the phone, and talk to more people you encounter as you go about your day.

If you're on your phone, zoning out to tunes on your iPod, or in any other way glued to the glowing screen of your gadgets, you're missing out on who's around you. And that's part of what inspired Suzanne to create Fantasy Dating; Fantasy Dating is a dare, of sorts, to get you to be more observant and interact with people around you.

During the interview, Suzanne and I discussed the rules of the game, who can play, where and how to find more dates, and more. It was a really awesome interview, and you can listen to it here:

Speaking with Suzanne and learning about her game has inspired me to issue my own dare to single readers/listeners:

I'm daring you to talk to someone new every day this week.

That hottie in the elevator? Why not say "hi" and do a little flirting? If he or she is single, you might even walk away with his or her digits and a date.

Or that cutie in your yoga class? Introduce yourself and ask him or her out for lunch after class. Might not lead to romance, but hey you may make a new friend.

And so on. Just unplug, be observant of your surroundings, and put yourself out there. You never know where you'll find love, friendship, or both.
