Earlier this summer Forbes released The 100 Best Websites for Women, 2013.
100. Best. Websites. For Women.
The list is, well, long, and it is varied. And it doesn’t even touch how many women’s interest sites are out there.
Forbes naturally hails sites focused on career development and entrepreneurship, as well as daily blogs devoted to building a family, fashion, finances, feminism, and the general trials and triumphs of being a modern woman.
Of course there’s Jezebel, Salon, Smitten Kitchen, and xoJane. But there’s also The Hairpin, 20-Nothings, The Bloggess, CityGirl Confidence, Racialicious, and The Everygirl.
So why are we, The Vodka Press, here to add what may be just another drop in the already-brimming bucket?
Because keeping up with everything today is grueling.
Because women’s web sites, just like women’s lives, just like women, are all different.
The Vodka Press is here to add not just another take on our quickly turning/tweeting/liking/pinning world, but another place for people to come together to share and learn, discuss and listen. The growing number of voices out there allows us to communicate with each other even better about things we find important.
We’re hot for dialogue, y’all.
The Vodka Press is a women-run, curious-person-oriented podcast putting another hub for cultural conversation on the map for the generally interested.
We’re here for women to be women, and to speak, write, and think as such.
But we’re also here for men to be involved with women’s voices and to contribute their own to conversations about sex, gender, relationships, and how sex and gender impact people’s relationships.
We’ll be posting not-quite-daily, and the show airs once a week.
Feel free to jump in, start your own sidebar, ask questions, or hey, just eavesdrop if you want.
